CDP offered the capability to develop concurrently a sensor housing and an automated assembly/packaging line for Cambridge technology company Smart Holograms as a one stop shop for new product production trials against aggressive timescales.
The Smart Holograms sensor responds to minute quantities of moisture by changing colour to highlight the presence of water in aviation fuel. This is a common but potentially fatal problem. Smart Holograms now own a proven product and packaging line capable of 2000 sensors per hour. The system and sensor housing were designed, manufactured, assembled and tested within 6 months.
