Supplier Code of Conduct
Introduction
At Cambridge Design Partnership (CDP), we are committed to conducting business with integrity, fairness, and respect for people and the planet. Our key suppliers and contractors are expected to share these aspirations and as such to comply with this Supplier Code of Conduct.
Scope
This policy applies to all CDP’s key suppliers and contractors.
Supplier expectations
- Responsible Business
- We expect suppliers to act with integrity and respect when conducting their ordinary business. Suppliers must comply with all applicable international and domestic laws regarding ethical business practices, including anti-corruption laws such as the UK Bribery Act 2010, the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and other similar legislation in all countries where they operate as well as with their contractual obligations.
- We expect suppliers to identify and mitigate any potential conflicts of interest. These should be declared to CDP as and when they occur during the relationship with CDP.
- We expect suppliers to be fair in their business operations and comply with relevant fair competition laws in all countries where they operate.
- Quality and Information Security
- Suppliers must protect confidential information given by CDP, including any of CDP’s clients’ data. Suppliers shall adhere to all relevant security regulations and legislative requirements including the Data Protection Act 2018 (UK), Computer Misuse Act 1990 (UK), the General Data Protection Regulation (EU and UK).
- Protecting the Environment
- Suppliers shall assess the impact and risks climate change has on their business and make adaptations as far as reasonably possible.
- Upon request and if available, suppliers shall be able to provide CDP with the carbon footprint of their organisation.
- CDP encourages suppliers to mitigate any negative environmental impacts of their operations including by responsible waste management and disposal, reduction of greenhouse gases and other emissions harmful to environment, conservation of non-renewable resources and using local suppliers where reasonably practicable. Suppliers are responsible for ensuring sustainability and environmentally friendly practices both internally and within their supply chain as far as reasonably possible.
- Suppliers are also expected to adhere to all environmental laws and regulations in the jurisdictions the jurisdictions and countries in which they operate.
- Employment, Safety and Human Rights
- CDP expects suppliers to treat their employees and subcontractors with dignity and respect.
- Suppliers must comply with all laws regarding equal opportunities, anti-discrimination (e.g. UK Equality Act 2010), child or forced labour, human trafficking, fair wages and general employment.
- CDP believe in strength through inclusivity. Innovation happens when differences collide: thinking, worldviews and backgrounds. We encourage our suppliers to also promote a diverse and inclusive environment where their employees and contractors feel supported and their contributions are valued.
- We expect suppliers to comply with all relevant legislation in the jurisdictions and countries in which they operate. This includes all applicable health and safety requirements as determined by their jurisdiction and industry.
- We encourage suppliers to, where possible, develop and implement occupational training and development programs across all operations, including by engaging in ongoing employee evaluations and providing continuous feedback to identify skills so as to enable companies to place employees in positions that align with their skill levels and ensuring, where relevant, that employees performing redundant tasks have access to training allowing transitions into other functional areas.
- Community Development
- We encourage suppliers to seek opportunities to contribute to local communities to improve the education, cultural, economic, and social well-being of those communities.
